Pecan Cobbler

INGREDIENTS

  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 1/2 cups pecans, roughly chopped
  • 1 1/2 cups self-rising flour
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 2/3 cup whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups packed brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups hot water

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  2. Place 6 tablespoons of butter in a 9×13-inch baking dish and put it in the oven to melt the butter.
  3. Sprinkle the chopped pecans over the melted butter, then set the baking dish aside.
  4. In a large bowl, whisk together the self-rising flour, granulated sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until the mixture is well combined.
  5. Pour the batter over the pecans in the baking dish and spread it gently into an even layer. Avoid mixing the pecans into the batter once it’s poured into the dish.
  6. Sprinkle the packed brown sugar evenly over the top of the batter without mixing it.
  7. Carefully pour the hot water over the brown sugar layer.
  8. Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the cake is golden brown.
  9. Remove the dish from the oven and let it cool for at least 15 minutes before serving. Enjoy!
