Layered Taco Pie

Serving: 4 Preparation Time: 30 minutes

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 (16 oz) can refried beans
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 6 8-inch flour tortillas
  • 2 cups grated Mexican cheese

For topping:

  • Sour cream
  • Black olives
  • Chopped iceberg lettuce
  • Chopped tomatoes

PREPARATION

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and spray an 8-inch springform pan with nonstick spray.
  2. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef. Drain any excess fat if necessary. Add the refried beans, taco seasoning, and water. Simmer until most of the liquid has absorbed, about 5 minutes.
  3. Line the bottom of the prepared pan with a tortilla. Spread one-fifth of the beef mixture evenly over the tortilla and top with 1/4 cup of cheese. Repeat these layers, ending with a tortilla on top.
  4. Sprinkle the remaining cheese over the top and bake until the cheese is melted and golden brown, approximately 20 minutes.
  5. Allow the dish to cool for 5 minutes before slicing and serving. Serve with desired toppings. Enjoy
