Cheesy Garlic Bread

Yields 1 loaf

Ingredients:

  • 1 loaf Italian bread
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup romano cheese, thickly grated
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped parsley

  1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees F.
  2. Take the Italian bread loaf and carefully slice it in half lengthwise, creating two long halves.
  3. In a medium-sized bowl, combine the softened unsalted butter and garlic powder until well blended.
  4. In another bowl, mix together the shredded mozzarella cheese and thickly grated romano cheese.
  5. Evenly spread the garlic butter mixture over both halves of the Italian bread. Place the buttered bread halves on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes, or until they turn a light golden brown.
  6. Once the bread is out of the oven, generously sprinkle the mixed cheeses over the top, ensuring complete coverage. Return the bread to the oven and bake for an additional 2-3 minutes, or until the cheese becomes golden brown and starts to bubble.
  7. After removing the loaf from the oven, allow it to cool for approximately 5 minutes. Finally, garnish the Garlic and Cheese Italian Bread with finely chopped parsley, slice it, and serve immediately. Enjoy!
