Ingredients:

For the Sweet Pretzels:

  • 1 (16 oz) bag of pretzel snaps
  • ⅔ cup of butter
  • 1 ¼ cup of brown sugar
  • ⅓ cup of corn syrup
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon of baking soda
  • 1 (8 oz) bag of Heath bits

For the Topping:

  • ¼ cup of finely chopped roasted peanuts

Preparation:

  1. Start by preheating your oven to 200 degrees F and then line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a small saucepan, combine the brown sugar, butter, and corn syrup. Heat this mixture until it reaches a boil, then continue boiling for an additional 2-3 minutes. Remove the saucepan from the heat.
  3. Stir in the baking soda and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. Place the pretzel snaps in a large bowl and pour the syrup mixture over them. Carefully mix until all the pretzels are evenly coated. Then, gently fold in the Heath bits.
  5. Spread the coated pretzels onto the prepared baking sheet and bake for 45 minutes, making sure to stir them halfway through the baking time.
  6. Once the pretzels are done baking, remove them from the oven and evenly sprinkle the finely chopped roasted peanuts over the top. Give them a gentle toss to combine.
