Ingredients:
For the Sweet Pretzels:
- 1 (16 oz) bag of pretzel snaps
- ⅔ cup of butter
- 1 ¼ cup of brown sugar
- ⅓ cup of corn syrup
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- ½ teaspoon of baking soda
- 1 (8 oz) bag of Heath bits
For the Topping:
- ¼ cup of finely chopped roasted peanuts
Preparation:
- Start by preheating your oven to 200 degrees F and then line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a small saucepan, combine the brown sugar, butter, and corn syrup. Heat this mixture until it reaches a boil, then continue boiling for an additional 2-3 minutes. Remove the saucepan from the heat.
- Stir in the baking soda and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Place the pretzel snaps in a large bowl and pour the syrup mixture over them. Carefully mix until all the pretzels are evenly coated. Then, gently fold in the Heath bits.
- Spread the coated pretzels onto the prepared baking sheet and bake for 45 minutes, making sure to stir them halfway through the baking time.
- Once the pretzels are done baking, remove them from the oven and evenly sprinkle the finely chopped roasted peanuts over the top. Give them a gentle toss to combine.
- Allow the sweet pretzels to cool and then break them into pieces. Store these delectable treats in an airtight container for freshness. Enjoy!
